Job Description To ensure that the clinic reception operates in an efficient, professional, and effective way and to handle all patient encounters and enquiries with professionalism, courtesy and understanding. Main duties •Opening up the clinic premises and preparing them for the day or closing the premises at the end of the day. •Ensure premises (waiting room, kitchen area, consulting rooms) are ready to receive patients. •Ensuring that there is soap and paper towels in the dispenser and alcohol gel available in all rooms. •Have knowledge of and work within the agreed reception protocol. •Answering the telephone and dealing with appointment requests. Dealing with all other requests appropriately. Ensuring that the computer appointments system is accurately maintained. •Receiving and routing patients on their arrival. •Answering general enquiries at the reception desk, receive and hand out prescriptions, make new and follow up appointments for all clinicians. •In certain circumstances you may be asked to act as a Chaperone for clinicians and patients. •After appointments, take payment from patients and invoice appropriately. •Keep trolleys, etc, stocked with consumables as required. •Posting updates on social media channels regularly •The role will undoubtedly have access to a range of confidential and privileged information relating to the medical team, the organisation, and its relationships. As such the role requires a high degree of discretion and trust and the post-holder must always demonstrate desired behaviours in line with organisational values to others within the clinic and externally. •Any other duties which may be deemed necessary for the effective running of the practice. Due to the nature of this role, a full enhanced DBS check will need to be performed prior to the commencement of employment.
